Make a picture four times larger

What you get: The same picture at four times each dimension, with edges and texture reconstructed rather than interpolated.

Stretching a picture in an image editor guesses at the pixels between the ones you have, which is why the result is soft. An upscaling model reconstructs edges and texture instead, so lines stay crisp at the new size.

Steps

  1. Start from the sharpest copy you have. Upscaling amplifies what is there, including compression artefacts. A clean 800px original beats a blurry 2000px re-save every time.
  2. Check it is sharp, not damaged. If the picture is soft because it was scanned, compressed or grabbed from video, repair it first — or use the combined repair-and-enlarge pass. Upscaling soft input gives you a large soft picture.
  3. Upload and run. Four times each dimension, so sixteen times the pixels. A 1536px image comes back at 6144px.
  4. Download before the sweep. A 6144px file is worth keeping deliberately. Results are erased automatically after a short retention period, so the download is the step that makes it yours.

Tips

  • Text and hard graphic edges upscale extremely well. Fine repeating texture — fabric weave, foliage, crowd detail — is where invention shows.
  • If you need a specific print size, upscale once and resize down from there rather than upscaling twice.
  • For a small damaged photo, repair first and enlarge second, or use the combined pass. Enlarging damage first only makes the damage bigger.

Limits worth knowing before you start

  • It reconstructs plausible detail at edges it can already see. It does not add objects, change the composition, or recover something that was never captured.
  • Four times is the factor. There is no arbitrary target resolution.
  • Nothing is archival. Uploads are deleted as soon as the job finishes, generated files are swept automatically after about a day, and the prompt text is blanked on the same schedule. Download what you want to keep — this is a workshop, not an archive.
  • Adult content is absent from this product rather than switched off. There is no setting, plan, administrator action or support request that introduces it, on the site or on the API.
  • Four things are refused on every plan, each one traceable to a law rather than to our taste. They are listed in full, with the statute behind each, on the safety page.

Questions

How large can it go?
Four times each dimension, so sixteen times the pixels. A 1536px image comes back at 6144px.
Does it add things that were not there?
It reconstructs plausible detail at the edges it can see. It does not add objects or change the composition.
Upscale or repair?
Sharp and small: upscale. Soft, scanned or compressed: repair, or the combined repair-and-enlarge pass.

Account, billing and retention questions are on the FAQ.
